At Markel, Orly Nosrati works with the Management Liability Claims team as Senior Counsel and Executive Claims Specialist. Orly received her JD degree in California and resides in Los Angeles. Orly manages litigation matters involving employment practices liability, directors and officers liability, and fiduciary liability claims for private for-profit and not-for-profit institutions. Orly is the main point of contact in California where she coordinates local defense counsel and oversees the defense of complex claims. Orly has over 15 years of experience in working with insurers, underwriters and brokers.

As a California based attorney, Orly pivoted from private practice to join the insurance industry after working as a defense litigation attorney with a state-wide law firm. She graduated from UCLA and received her law degree from Whittier College School of Law, and published her Law Review Article “Killing Free Speech or Promoting Killer Profits.”

Orly has served on the Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Steering Committee for Markel’s Claims Organization. She has been an active member and contributor to the D&I committee since 2021.
